Overview
Ski the 1,200 km Arctic route from Rovaniemi (the official home of Santa Claus at the Arctic Circle) to Nordkapp on the Barents Sea — the northernmost point of mainland Europe — on a 30-day cross-country ski traverse through Finnish Lapland, Norwegian Finnmark, and the Barents Sea coast. The route follows reindeer migration corridors across frozen lakes and fells; Sami communities provide context for the landscape. The midnight sun arrives at Nordkapp on May 14; reaching the cliff edge at the sea in skiing conditions is achievable in late April.
