Mont Blanc Massif, France / Italy / Switzerland · France / Italy / Switzerland
Complete the Tour du Mont Blanc as a fast-packing or running route — 170 km and 10,000 m of elevation gain that thru-hikers take 11 days can be run in 3-4 days by fit mountain athletes. The circuit passes through France, Italy, and Switzerland around Europe's highest massif with the Grandes Jorasses, Aiguilles, and the Brenva Face of Mont Blanc as the constant backdrop. The race version (UTMB) draws 10,000 runners each August; independent fast-packers can tackle the same route without the crowds at any time in summer.
