Overview
The Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye is the finest mountain traverse in Britain, a 12-kilometre knife-edge of gabbro requiring rope and scrambling ability to complete in its full form as the Cuillin Traverse. The individual Munros of Sgurr Alasdair and Sgurr Dearg with its Inaccessible Pinnacle are the most challenging peaks in Britain, requiring abseiling to descend. The Fairy Pools and the basalt columns of Kilt Rock add magical colour to the island's extraordinary geology.
