Overview
Cycling from Manali to Leh across the Indian Himalaya provides one of the world's most spectacular high-altitude road journeys, crossing the Rohtang, Baralacha La, and Lachulung La passes before topping out at 5,328 metres on the Taglang La. The 475-kilometre route takes seven to nine days and passes through the lunar landscapes of Sarchu, the roadside tent camps at Zingzingbar, and the Buddhist monasteries of the Indus Valley. The combination of altitude, road quality, and mountain scenery is unparalleled.
