Push off from Havelock — officially Swaraj Dweep — at first light and the Andaman Sea sits like glass, flying fish scattering ahead of your bow while the white sweep of Radhanagar Beach is still empty. Kayaking the quieter coasts of Havelock and Neil islands links coral reef after coral reef where visibility can top 30 metres, and on moonless nights the plankton bloom is bright enough to trace every paddle stroke in green fire through the mangrove creeks. Logistics are the real test: everything runs through Port Blair, ferry seats sell out days ahead, and island camping rules shift season to season, so go with a local outfitter who handles permits and boat support. The northeast monsoon rules out the middle of the year — November to April is the only reliable window, and mornings before the sea breeze are when the water is at its calmest.
